The King City, Ontario renovation project by Kayland Construction Concepts was a meticulously executed transformation that honored the home's original architectural charm while infusing modern functionality and elegance. Situated alongside a breathtaking, cascading landscape, the design focused on preserving key features while introducing contemporary upgrades.
Design and Preservation
The design plan emphasized retaining the character of the home's distinctive elements, such as the original timber structural beams and the elegant spiral staircase. These features provided a rustic and unique charm that was carefully integrated into the overall renovation. Thoughtful design decisions ensured that the heritage elements were enhanced and showcased throughout the space.
New Office Space and Bedroom
A new office was created to inspire creativity and productivity. This workspace was designed with ample natural light and thoughtfully arranged custom built-in cabinets, providing both functionality and an appealing aesthetic. The eye-catching eyebrow mantle above the bed added a refined and architectural touch, seamlessly blending traditional and modern styles.
Flooring and Interior Finishes
Engineered hardwood floors in a sophisticated herringbone pattern were installed, adding texture and visual interest to the home. The classic shaker-style solid interior doors offered a timeless and elegant look, while upgraded poplar trim gave the space a polished and cohesive feel.
Lighting and Ambiance
Potlights by Liteline were installed throughout the home, delivering versatile and ambient lighting. The well-planned lighting design emphasized the home’s architectural details and created a welcoming and luxurious atmosphere.
Final Touches
The entire home was painted with Benjamin Moore paints, known for their quality and durability, to achieve a smooth, vibrant, and lasting finish. The result was a beautifully balanced blend of traditional elements and contemporary upgrades, perfect for modern living while honoring the home's original character
